Lithium-Ion Fire Protection Forum With An Engineer & An AHJ

Lithium-Ion Energy Storage Systems are causing unique and hazardous fires throughout the US and the world. NFSA’s Fire Protection Engineer - Jeff Dunkel FPE and Austin Fire Department’s Graduate Engineer -Scott Stookey will provide an Engineering & an AHJ perspective on Lithium-Ion issues and potential solutions.

Objectives

1) To provide an Engineering overview of research, codes and standards that regulate Lithium Ion Battery and Energy Storage Systems.
2) To provide an AHJ perspective on local design and installation amendments for Lithium Ion occupancies being built in the “Texas Silicon Hills” Technology Hub – Austin, Texas.
3) To discuss what data and code changes are needed in the future to address this new fire hazard.
