Dennis Wood is the Director of Operations serving the employees and members of the National Fire Sprinkler Association from NFSA Headquarters in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. He brings his strong desire to serve others to improve fire and life safety, with the goal of zero fire deaths, both in the public and in the fire service. Dennis currently strives toward this goal by providing, managing, and maintaining many of the infrastructure functions, which provide support and resources, to empower NFSA’s amazing employees to be successful with their passions and projects. He is particularly interested in understanding the “big picture” so that efficiencies and improvements can be realized between the various important services the NFSA provides. Dennis joined the NFSA in 2018, after a 23-year career with the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department. He retired as the Deputy Chief of Emergency Services leading and managing the Department’s personnel responsible for direct service delivery to the community. Dennis holds a Master of Science degree in Emergency Health Services from the University of Maryland – Baltimore County.
