Michael Joanis, PE is the Director of Contractor Services at the NFSA. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has been a registered professional engineer in several states since 1996. He is a member of NFPA and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. He is currently a member of six NFPA technical committees including Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria and Hanging and Bracing. Michael is a licensed sprinkler contractor and serves as the NFSA staff liaison for the Contractors Council and Quality Assurance Committee.
