Fire Protection for Plant Extraction

Plant extraction processes, especially with hemp and marijuana, utilize a variety of hazardous gases and liquids to extract valuable materials from plants. Grow facilities also present fire protection challenges with high combustible loading and complicated electrical systems. This class will offer an overview of the fire code requirements related to the unique aspects of plant extraction with a primary focus on the flammable gases and liquids which are most used. The presentation will also highlight fire protection strategies to help protect buildings, workers, and occupants from the hazards associated with the plant extraction processes used by this rapidly growing industry.
